What really makes a good Product Manager?

Strategic Thinking

Making and following a plan of action. Building of a strategy to overcome problems faced during execution of a project. Forecasting how much time each stage of the product development cycle will take.

Attention to Detail

The ability to achieve thoroughness at work so that includes error logging and error reporting. The development team should be informed by the Product Manager.


A good product manager works smoothly with other members of the team on a variety of topics. Very motivated about the product. Therefore he or she puts extra effort in their work.


The ability to successfully negotiate deals in the best interest of the company. Product managers need to be biased for action so they can get things done. In order for a product to be completed there are hundreds of things to get done. A project manager should be able to get down and dirty to get them done. therefore this skill is the most important.

Ability to Meet Deadlines

To be flexible enough to meet deadlines so as to ensure designated work is completed. A product manager is therefore involved at every step of the way and must be flexible enough to comprise at certain areas for the team.


To handle multiple projects simultaneously therefore a multitude of work can be completed and worked on in parallel.
